ปั๊มดูดจ่ายสารเคมี คือ ปั๊มดูดจ่ายของเหลวแบบรีดท่อหรือสายยาง โดยอาศัยหลักการแทนที่ (Positive Displacement) ตัวลูกรีด จะรีดสายยางเป็นช่วงๆ เพื่อดันให้ของเหลวในสายยางเกิดการเคลื่อนที่ไปยังทิศทางที่ต้องการ ทำให้อัตราการดูดจ่ายคงที่ โดยที่ของเหลวไม่มีการสัมผัสกับส่วนอื่นๆของปั๊มเลย นอกจากสายยางเท่านั้น จึงไม่ต้องกังวลถึงการสึกกร่อน (abrasion) ที่จะเกิดขึ้นภายในปั๊ม นอกจากนี้สายยางก็ยังถอดออก เพื่อทำความสะอาดหรือฆ่าเชื้อได้

ปั๊มดูดจ่ายสารเคมี เป็นปั๊มที่ถูกใช้งานกันมากมาย ทั้งในครัวเรือน เช่น ในเครื่องล้างจาน ในโรงงานอุตสาหกรรม เป็นส่วนประกอบในเครื่องจักร หลายๆ ประเภท เช่น เครื่องบรรจุ เครื่องทำความสะอาด หรืออยู่ในเครื่องมือวิทยาศาสตร์ เครื่องมือวัด อีกมากมาย และพบได้ในโรงพยาบาล เช่น เครื่องให้น้ำเกลือ หรือ เครื่องฉีดสารเข้าทางหลอดเลือด เครื่องมือแพทย์ และ ทันตกรรม เป็นต้น

Peristaltic pumps is a pump that sucks liquids by squeezing pipes or hoses. It uses the principle of positive displacement. The plunger will squeeze the hose periodically to push the liquid in the hose to move in the desired direction, resulting in a constant suction rate. The liquid does not come into contact with any other parts of the pump except the hose. Therefore, there is no need to worry about abrasion that will occur inside the pump. In addition, the hose can be removed for cleaning or disinfection.

Peristaltic pumps are widely used in households, such as dishwashers, in industrial plants, as components in many types of machinery, such as filling machines, cleaning machines, or in many scientific instruments, measuring instruments, and hospitals, such as saline infusion machines or intravenous injection machines, medical and dental equipment, etc.
